THE RAMRODS were Detroit's preeminent Punk band in the late 70's. While all the other groups played to a bunch of spitting, pogo-ing disenfranchised boys, the first few rows of a Ramrods show were always filled with undulating girls. Like The Stooges before them, this was due to their ability to blend high-energy rock n roll with a sexy groove. Although their live appearances over the last 27 years can be counted on one hand, this version of their classic, "Here It Comes", clearly demonstrates that The Ramrods remain poised to go another 15 rounds.

By MrsWhatsit on March 25, 2008, at 7:39AM PST VaVoom broke up years ago.  Dave Hanna plays with SpaceHeaters, Nikki Corvette, and on here with Ramrods.  Bootsey is still around and playing here and there!  He just finished a European tour with Nathaniel Mayer's band.  Angie lives in Canada with parents and shows up at gigs once in a while to say hello.  No word on the rest of the assembled VaVoom crew that I'm aware of.

By jim_edwards on December 12, 2007, at 4:16PM PST That's another thing about Detroit. Booze, Drugs, Time have no effect on the musicians here. The world SHOULD be afraid of what's going on here!

By TheRamaLlama on November 19, 2007, at 2:13PM PST Yeah, here we go! I would never dare to compare the guys to my beloved Stooges, but they still found the pocket after all these years...this was never far removed from Down On The Street to begin with, remember we didn't have the Stooges to kick around when these guys played Bookies 870. Nive Iggy slap there Norton! Some good pounding there Bootsy...
