By robertplattbell on August 19, 2008, at 2:46PM PST Big hype on this "channel" on CNN.com. But only 6 videos of middling quality? Newcasters fuss with their hair and clothing when they are off the air - WOW! WHO KNEW? Oh, wait, that's not suprising at all. Now, if you had video of them taking a swig of Scotch or making out with some bimbo, well, there's a video. Otherwise, these videos are about as interesting as paint drying....

By ZehnKatzen on July 23, 2008, at 9:31AM PST Well, at one time, anchors WERE journalists. And damned good ones too. There are things the news can tell us that we need to know that we could never find out on our own, and before "la Couric epoch", we could depend on that. The reason Couric is A Bad Thing is twofold: first, because she make real for even the dense to see what a dumbass mess news reporting in this country has become, and, second, she was put up there just to bring in the ratings. Not because she's smart, not because she can investigate, synthsize, and report what we actually need to know (that we'd never know because we're the hoipolloi), but just because she's chipper and cute and popular. She represents the modern American ideal of ultimate success: those who don't deserve it, get it.Her idea of "equal time" was to let several conservatives opine and maybe just one or two liberals. Her views are banal, much better suited to her old post on Today than the (formerly respectable) CBS Evening News.Though, RJayJohnson has a point. They are just "news readers" now. Not a thought in their pretty heads. But we deserve better. For a long time, we had better. Now ... meh. Blogs keep me better informed than the networks do.
By harmonious on August 28, 2008, at 2:36PM PST that's probably why i don't watch the networks anymore. sex sells, however. not many ugly women on tv, quite the contrary.
By Dr_Zaius on February 27, 2008, at 3:05PM PST Oh, for Pete's sake. It's like Rachael Ray doing the news.
By RjJayJohanson on January 18, 2008, at 10:43AM PST I'm like dude!!!!!!!!!!I think she ought to wear a thong...black.
By wallman on January 17, 2008, at 9:29AM PST Man, how do you work up any anger against this fuzz ball? Come on she's a news reader for god's sake.Somehow a lot of people still have this image in their minds that these network anchors have any significance and are supposed to be journalists. That concept and their audience evaporated many moons ago folks. These guys remind me of the delusional Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard." All right,Mr. Kaplan,I'm ready for my close-up".
By Django on January 17, 2008, at 8:30AM PST boondog10. What did Katie teach us? Hmmm. Who cares about her flipping coat? I'm to busy looking at her mouth and trying to figure what the hell is going on there. And I'm more concerned with what is under the coat than how it is buttoned. Leave Katie alone! She is a swell teacher.
By Django on January 17, 2008, at 8:07AM PST boondog10. Who are you? The Chris Crocker of Katie Couric? "Leave Katie alone"! What a homo. Thes pompous, self indulgent, bloated ego, broadcasters are a joke. They think they are so smart, when in actuality they are dim wits. Get a life and a sence of humor. LEAVE KATIE ALONE! WHAAAAAAAAAAA!
By Ursousa on January 16, 2008, at 10:00AM PST OH FOR GOD SAKE!!!! IT'S JUST A FUCKING COAT!!!!!
By boondog10 on January 15, 2008, at 7:54PM PST Umm... All you critics... when was the last time someone asked YOU to host a network television show? oh... NEVER? what a surprise. Critics be damned. Those who can't DO... teach!
