If you're in Vegas this week, or always looking for an excuse to go, My Damn Channel's flesh & bones will be onstage at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) convention Wednesday, 4/16 at 2pm.

The NAB invited us to spend an hour talking about TRUSTING TALENT in a place called the "Content Theatre."

Harry Shearer will be with us & we're 'trusting' Andy Milonakis will show up. The session is going to be moderated by Jon Healey from the LA Times. We promised Jon we're going to make some 'news' with an announcement that Harry and I will deliver Wednesday.

If 'trusting talent' is a radical idea that deserves to be dissected, then we'll whip out the scalpel and slice away a bit more - here - this weekend.

Boo! is the brand new album from Was (Not Was).

Quit working for a second & picture this:

You're walking down a dark road - there's a thumping sound ahead somewhere in the distance - you shuffle a little bit faster towards the sound. A light shines in the night to guide the way.

You're closer - you hear music playing louder. You see a church with a long name that doesn't sound like it belongs to any particular denomination: "The House of the Happy Redemption"

Open the door & the preacher's voice is booming : "If life has left you a little too filled with fear, worry, loneliness, forgetfullness, and despair.....then stand up and let the music back in through the bottom of your feet to the top of your aching head."

Remember how you used to feel before you had hard times invade your brain? Go get some musical medicine & a long tall glass of some "Crazy Water."

We're honored that Don Was decided to reimagine music distribution on My Damn Channel. Checkout the Wasmopolitan Cavalcade of Recorded Music - where Don has produced over 50 NEW tracks and videos - all there for you - for free.

A few other living rock bands have chased "the title" - but when those contenders take a private look in the mirror, they all know the championship belt still belongs to The Rolling Stones.

Their iconic stature is so immense that it's become too easy to take the Stones for granted. They've toured endlessly, touching millions - but if you've never seen the Rolling Stones in concert, you've missed the chance to inhale the primordial goo that led you to every rock band you ever worshipped.

I was 21 in '81, when I had my first close encounter of the mystical kind. A series of amazing coincidences put me in a position to dream up an impossible night of music. I co-created a secret Stones club gig with the band which put them on a tiny stage at Sir Morgan's Cove in Worcester, Massachusetts. We filled the club with over 300 fans of our radio station, WAAF. It's one thing to see the world's best band in a football stadium - it's another thing to see them five feet in front of your face.

The band continued the tradition of doing secret warmup gigs in small clubs over the years. On rare occasions, they've played small theatres like the Beacon in NY. In the fall of 2006, Martin Scorsese documented the Stones there. The result is a new film called, SHINE A LIGHT which opens tomorrow.

We've got 5 clips up now on our PromoSexual channel to drive you to the movie and to get you one step closer to feeling what all the fuss has been about since 1962.

When real rock becomes dangerously rare, authenticity annhiliates cynicism.

"IF 6 WAS 9"

Posted in My Damn Channel with tags Jimi Hendrix, My Damn Channel on 4/1/2008 1:16:00 AM by Rob Barnett

Welcome back to "The Night Feed." The twins are heading into their 6th month. My Damn Channel enters number 9.

This blog started like the 'thrill of the chase' - too awake to sleep - all of the daily noise turned all the way down except for the babies crying. But when they settle back down, the search begins to try to document a series of searches and chases.

All 3 babies stand to represent and honor 'original.' There aren't any rules on a page to set it right. The only way to stay 'new' is to listen and watch and steer the way the wind is whispering.

On the channels, we don't impose rules and regulations on the artists. We built the vehicle and keep finding enough cash to fill their tank. No backseat driving.

We're opening up new ideas for channel 9 and ready to listen to yours.

Thank you for the video Erica.
