ROB & MARIA in WAINY DAYS

That's David Wain & Amy Miles in the new episode of WAINY DAYS: "Rochelle" is a 2-part, rock opera.

Part 1 premieres today - Part 2 premieres tomorrow.

"Rocky Horror Wainy Show" !!

It's the 30th episode of one of the best comedy series inside your computer. Big thanks to David Wain for always delivering for his fans...and to Jon Stern - the producer of WAINY DAYS & everything else we love like HORRIBLE PEOPLE, CHILDREN's HOSPITAL  n' more.

When we started WAINY DAYS, I promised David he could do the exact work he wanted - without any suits or execs in the way. This was the first time we ever even visited the set - as a going away present to Maria Diokno, one of our My Damn Channel originators.

When Maria & I got to the shoot, they cast us as extras seated right behind David & Michelle Federer (from Broadway's "Wicked").  Maria is an actress who's done this before - I'm horrible, but it's a thrill to be 'in' our longest-running series.

Wainy Days” is the brainchild of its creator, writer and director, David Wain (writer and director of last year’s hit film “Role Models” starring Seann William Scott, Paul Rudd, Jane Lynch, Elizabeth Banks and Christopher Mintz-Plasse).  The comedy series, developed and produced exclusively for My Damn Channel, follows the romantic misadventures of Wain and has featured past celebrity guest appearances by Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Elizabeth Banks, Lee Majors, A.D. Miles, Rob Corddry, Jason Sudeikis, Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, Ed Helms, Joe Lo Truglio, Janeane Garofalo and Alicia Witt.  A recap from David Wain of the past 3 seasons of “Wainy Days” and a tease of the new episodes can be viewed at

In the new season of “Wainy Days,” the cast of name co-stars from film and television includes Amanda Peet, Lake Bell, Rosemarie DeWitt (Rachel Getting Married, Mad Men), Michelle Federer (Wicked), and Frederick Weller (In Plain Sight).  In the first episode of the season, David meets a sexy woman, Jill (played by Amanda Peet), who appreciates him for all that he isn’t.

Miles and Matt Ballard).  There will also be a showing of the premiere episode as well as a sneak peek of an upcoming episode.  (Tickets are $15 advance/$18 door and can be purchased at: http://www.92ytribeca.com/ or by calling 212,415.5500.

Wainy Days has been viewed over 9 millions times on My Damn Channel and throughout its syndication network, was just named an official honoree for "Best Comedy Series" for the 2009 Webby Awards, was the winner of the 2008 Webby Awards' "Best Comedy Series" as well as the 2009 Streamy Awards' "Best Guest Appearance" for Paul Rudd, and has been called "an unmissable Web series by the Associated Press. Wainy Days is produced by Jonathan Stern.

"
I love that the world keeps wanting to follow my pathetic (albeit fictional) quest to meet women,” says Wain.  “As long as the audience demands it, I will continue to hire actresses to make out with me and put it on the web."

“If My Damn Channel is a new world version of an old NBC, then David Wain would definitely be our ‘Seinfeld,’” says Rob Barnett, Founder/CEO. “David continues to earn all the accolades that ‘Wainy Days’ has won by topping himself every season. His series turns sexual angst into uniquely twisted comedy.”

WAINY DAYS RIDES AGAIN

Posted in David Wain, Wainy Days with tags Wainy Days, David Wain, Jon Stern, Maria Diokno, Rob Barnett, My Damn Channel on 3/10/2009 9:42:57 AM by Rob Barnett

Thrills n chills yesterday on the set of WAINY DAYS. David Wain is shooting all new episodes for Season 4!

When we launched My Damn Channel 7/31/07, David was one of the first artists to believe we could build a home that re-wrote rules of how the show business is supposed to work.

Three seasons and 26 episodes later, this amazing man has created one of the best comedy series in the new world. We bow to HIM!

We've never once visited the set to play exec types with David and his producer, Jon Stern. They're too good at what they do to have us nosing around. The formula works - so why screw with it.....until yesterday.

Maria Diokno - our Director of Original Programming & one of the founding people inside our DAMN fam is leaving to move back to a new life in her native San Francisco. She's been the best co-con anyone can imagine. We're going to suck without her.

We decided Maria couldn't leave here without seeing David & Jon and company in action. And we ended up getting thrown into one of the new eps as extras.

All-new WAINY DAYS will premiere here this spring.

Get David's last feature film ROLE MODELS on DVD now - or else:  http://www.rolemodelsmovie.com/

PRAISING ADAM CAROLLA

Posted in Adam Carolla, FREE FM with tags Adam Carolla, FREE FM, 97.1 KLSX, CBS Radio, Howard Stern, Jimmy Kimmel, Teresa Strasser on 2/19/2009 7:38:37 AM by Rob Barnett

I'm listening to Adam Carolla online in NY this morning. I'm filled with sadness, anger, disappointment, and other badness because Fri 2/20 is the last morning the Ace Man broadcasts from 97.1 FREE FM in LA.

I hired Adam for this job back in 2004. For the past four years he built one of the best morning radio shows in the country. Adam is being so gracious this morning to all the enemies of good radio that it's....well....too gracious.

Over four years ago, nobody could 'replace' Howard Stern, he could only be 'followed.' Adam followed better than anyone else ever could. A caller to his show remarked that Howard may not be the same man in real life as he is on the air. Adam is an unusual talent. If you were sitting at his house, poolside, with a beer - you'd be hearing much the same man you'd hear on the radio.  He'd be grabbing every, seemingly small detail of the oddities of life and pulling you inside the inately funniest aspects of all of it.

Adam Carolla is an entertainer, a radio host, an improv artist, an actor, a writer, a producer, a boxer, a filmmaker, a carpenter, a car nut, a husband, a father, a dancer, a brilliant brain, and above all ... an extremely decent human being.

You won't find many of those in the radio business in 2009. The magic of truly free thinkers and the music stations many of us all fell in love with long ago is all but dead. There are too many killers to name.

Instead, thanks and respect go to Adam, Teresa Strasser, Bryan, Angie, The Mikes, Kimmel, Dixon, Brusca, Dameshek, every affiliate that helped create big numbers in markets all over the country, and to the fans who embraced all of it.

As a fan, I'll keep tracking the movement at www.AdamCarolla.com.

As an new media outlet, truly FREE, without any job justifiers, or weak-kneed corporate suckass wannabees....the doors of My Damn Channel will always be open to you my friend.  You're a class act Carolla.

ADAM CAROLLA

Posted in Adam Carolla, FREE FM with tags Adam Carolla, FREE FM, Howard Stern on 12/19/2007 9:19:00 PM by Rob Barnett

adam-the-hammer.jpg Last weekend, I googled the man I hired for the awesome little job called "replace Howard Stern." I found an anonymous blog that smelled like something rotten was stinking up the kitchen at CBS: http://somedudefromjersey.blogspot.com/2007/12/shit-in-my-awesome-sandwich.html Adam Carolla has a playbook filled with more options and winning strategies than any idiotic morning zoo or any hack program directors can ever hope to create. Danny Bonaduce was a desperate hail mary pass thrown by people too short-sited to see that it took Howard decades to build his radio empire. When Stern first syndicated, it took four years for him to lay waste to the competition. Adam was always first to say that Howard was irreplaceable. I couldn't have agreed more. But when 'the KING' departed for a new throne, someone was left having to figure out how to start over. That someone was me. I went home the night that I was given the ball and told my wife there was good news & bad news. The good news was that I was made President of CBS Radio programming. The bad news is that I had to figure out how to replace Howard. We'll skip the long stories here about who the REAL choice was for NY & save all that for later. The ONLY choice for LA, and for the west coast Stern stations was the man who'd been on Howard's show for scores of LIVE appearances - the man who rocked THE MAN SHOW with Brother Jimmy Kimmel - the man who made LOVELINE a latenight hit - the man with unique comic skills to improv and create immediate compelling content out of every scrap of raw material - the man who can build a house with his bare hands - and you get the drift: C-A-R-O-L-L-A. We gave Adam a new start in a new format called FREE FM. free-fm-in-black-box.gif Our mission wasn't complex. Hire BIG talent and give them the support and freedom they need to build better radio on their own terms. People are sick of over-formatted radio with too many commercial interuptions. No breaking news there. Talent is the only answer to better ratings and revenues. But old media doesn't have a terrific track record backing talent. The current writers' strike is front page news that tells the same story in Hollywood. A great drama seems to be unfolding. Morning radio fans in LA, Vegas, San Francisco, Seattle, Sacramento, Reno, Fresno, Palm Springs, Portland (Oregon & Maine), Boise, and Pittsburgh wait to find out if Adam Carolla will be back on January 2nd. I'll lay down this bet with a song: Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen, and down the mountain side The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying 'Tis you, 'tis you must go.
