Here are some interesting facts about Today:
It's the day before
Easy To Assemble Season 3 "Finding North" premieres! Oh! And we have a new trailer for you to watch! What a coincidence!
It's the anniversary of the
1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake aka
"The Last Time the Giants and the A's faced each other in the World Series"!

It's
National Pasta Day... which is not to be confused with
WORLD Pasta Day!
It's
Eminem's birthday!

And--yes-- we know this isn't a birthday cake
for Eminem, but it's funnier this way! And this post needs all the help it can get.

The world just lost a piece of its soul tonite. Clarence Clemons has been an inspiration, a hero, a touchstone, and a non-stop deliverer of the big sound, big love, and big joy to me and all of my closest friends. It's hard to think of this world without him.
I rarely cry. But I'm crying tonite. From the first minute we heard him on vinyl - and throughout every night we saw him walk onto that stage - everyone who loved Clarence knew we had the biggest, baddest, best man at our side.
The lifelong thrill of loving Bruce & Clarence & The E Street Band might be what it feels like to be addicted to comics and Superheroes. We're dedicated to getting together with people of like-minds and like-souls -- all of us looking up to the image of the friendships we want - experiencing the ultimate teamwork we know is possible - and the hardest part about tonite is figuring out how to handle the loss of the image of permanence we felt every time that man took the stage.

I have been Clarence's fan and friend for almost 40 years. His death is a tremendous loss to all of my best friends and to everyone who loves his sound and his gracious soul. Let's send love to Clarence, to his big family and friends, and to Bruce and the entire E Street Family.

The headline of
ABC's video reads, "South Park Creators Invade Broadway" with a subheadline of "Jake Tapper chats with the creators of Broadway's show, The Book of Mormon." I'd add a sub-subheadline to say that Jake Trapper is a South Park superfan, and that he's living out his dream of interviewing Matt and Trey. Robin Roberts even punks him out at the beginning of this video about what a fanboy he is.
But can you blame him?
South Park has been a hit for years and preview showings of The Book of Mormon are blowing minds.
John August, writer of the movie Big Fish and Corpse Bride, recently
tweeted, "
BOOK OF MORMON is as good as everyone raves. Envy is the most sincere form of flattery." And check out this from Penn Jillette of Penn and Teller - Teller and I are at intermission at our old broadway theater watching The Book of Mormon. It may be the greatest thing I've ever seen."
It's time for us to stop being modest! We have the star of The Book of Mormon, Josh Gad, launching a new show called Gigi: Almost American THIS WEDNESDAY! 3/23. March 23rd, 2011!
A day that will live in infamy.
Until then, watch the promos and trailer and spread the word.

Today is the day: previews begin for the new Broadway musical "The Book of Mormon" and I, for one, could not be more excited. Why? Three reasons.
1) Josh Gad, star of "Gigi: Almost American," My Damn Channel's original series premiering on 3/23, will also be starring in "The Book of Mormon" as Elder Cunningham, one of the two missionaries who travel to Africa in order to spread, eh-hem, the Book of Mormon.
2) Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, TREY PARKER AND MATT STONE!!! "The Book of Mormon" is the brainchild of these two dudes who also created "South Park," you know, that show that's been hilarious for over a decade now. These guys always go for it: it's guaranteed that "The Book of Mormon" will bring the hot fire cuz Trey and Matt they don't ever quit bringing the heat.
3) It's Broadway, baby! I've seen every single show that's ever opened on Broadway since "Show Boat" opened in 1927. I can't get enough of it! The pageantry, the hot lights, the buzz, the singing, the dancing...at this tender age of 114, Broadway is more potent than a fistful of Viagra.
So scoop up your tickets right now. Why wait? WHY WOULD YOU WAIT? There are no reasons. Do it.

Good things come in 3's.
3 years ago, a small band of true believers were readying the launch of My Damn Channel: 7/31/07.
Here are the inaugural videos from the first 3 artists we signed.
David Wain came in with the world's fastest pitch for Wainy Days: (paraphrasing) "I want to make out with the hottest women in the world and every date goes horribly wrong."
His first episode (a 3-parter) co-stars Elizabeth Banks as Shelly:

David Wain as David Wain, Elizabeth Banks as Shelly.
Harry Shearer was the first hero we signed. He sat in prosthetic makeup for over 4 hours to become Dick Cheney, singing sexy for Scooter Libby:

Harry Shearer as Dick Cheney.
We wanted music to marry comedy in our company from Day One. We turned to another brother and one of the best musicians and producers on the planet, Don Was.
Don's "Wasmopolitan Cavalcade of Recorded Music" is an earful of the best music you can't get anywhere else.
His first My Damn Channel production starred one of the smartest singer/songwriters we know, Jill Sobule:

Don Was, Rob Barnett, Jill Sobule, Warren Chao at the My Damn Channel west coast launch party, 2007.
Here's a rare, bonus video from the archives. Day one back on 7/31/07 also starred Big Fat Brain, the geniuses behind You Suck at Photoshop, and the web designers of all things DAMN. One of our only spoof vids looked 20 years into the FUTURE and poked our pals at Funny or Die, who had launched a few months earlier:

Matt Bledsoe, Troy Hitch
