If you made it here to THE NIGHT FEED blog on MY DAMN CHANNEL even once before, then you've likely made it into more than one of the 9 circles below.
HAPPY 09! The sun is coming up & as we get ready to race around it again with you - here are nods & promises:
To Our Families & Friends:
The work is impossible without your support & meaningless without your love.
To Our Artists:
To those who've been with us, those who remain, & those about to join My Damn Channel in 09...we built this ship for you: a studio, a network, a syndicator & a cash-creator like no other. Freedom reigns - red tape disappears & you're in the driver's seat to reach as large an audience as you can - and to reap the rewards you deserve. We worship your ability to make people smile, dance & think.
To Our Fans:
Thank you for finding us, for spreading our url and our videos - but most importantly - thank you for setting the bar as high as you like. The stats don't lie and we're ready for another 365-day lesson about what you want and what's not worth shit.
We built the site going against the grain where a zillion others put a few needles inside a humungous haystack. Here, we bring you a smaller number of better web series. But there's enough of you coming now on a daily basis to grab more help from sponsors - so you'll get MORE series to watch.
We trust you to keep attacking us with what's right & what's horribly wrong. You know how to find us.
To Our Advertisers:
We found you an experienced and skilled new leader in Suhaila Suhimi. In the first days of 09, we're ready to unveil our new plans. We're going to give you the opportunity to get inside new series with major talent. And we're also ready to co-create more branded entertainment that delivers high-quality, affordable, effective results.
To Our Backers:
Others have fallen trying in 08. They raised too much (or too little), they over-promised, under-delivered, and crashed. Thank you for believing that we could sign pro talent, build big audience, and win the trust of major advertisers to bring us to break-even at break-neck pace. We've proven that our model works, now we prove that it scales.
To Our Syndication partners:
You've given us the promotion and the placement we needed to prove that our videos deliver for your audiences. To potential new partners, we'll continue to offer the best original music & comedy and ask just two things in return: significant promotion and a straight-up rev deal.
To Our Competitors:
Respect to every runner out there who is brave enough to enter the race. There's room for more than a few winners. And there's room for some of the smarter teams to run together.
To Our Staff & Every Human creating My Damn Channel 24/7:
We're a small group of determined punks proving that you don't need a thousand execs to screw in a light bulb. Your brilliance is blinding. Your dedication is inspiring. We're winning the game inside the worst economic crisis of our time because of YOU. You make it fun to get out of bed every morning. 09 will be an even bigger blast for all of us.

Our twins are 10 months old. This blog was named "The Night Feed" and launched last November at a time when sleep was a nickname for 90-minute naps in the middle of the night, between feedings. We all sleep like humans now, but not tonight.
It's raining hard. A Hard Rain.... Head running. Sleeptalkin. Re-inspired. The second year of My Damn Channel begins.
We're regularly attacking ourselves and creating more reasons for you to get into it, to spread it, or to slap us senseless. emails welcome......rob@MyDamnChannel.com:

My Damn Channel,
The Night Feed on 6/17/2008 2:00:15 PM by Rob Barnett
If you're a co-con, a regular to "The Night Feed," or a fan of Damn, we're sharing a brand new idea - before it's even half-baked - for your brains to help bake it better.
We're getting a ton of pitches for new channels, new web series every week.
We're doing an honest job getting through all of it & giving back answers a thousand times more quickly than yer typical old media response.

Problem is - we're saying NO - a lot more than we're saying YES.
Reason is - we started My Damn Channel with the idea that less could be more.
We never attempted to be the site with the most videos - we keep working to make sure that if we're putting care & coin behind something - we're doing it because we're giving you the better stuff - consistently.
WHAT IF we started giving more series a shot by creating a channel that featured the pilot episodes for potential new series on My Damn Channel.
We're not going after a "Funny or Die" approach - we're not opening up another "American Idol." But we would start a new way to give more creators a chance to reach millions.
We'd option your work for a chunk of months - after that - we'd either say YES to more & pony up -- or NO -- & you're free to move on.
More to say - but starting the earliest thinking here - for your comments in public, or private to: Rob@MyDamnChannel.com

MY DAMN CHANNEL CLOSES MAJOR BRANDED ENTERTAINMENT DEAL
Southern Comfort Launches Partnership for Summer Music Campaign
New York, NY – June 16, 2008 – My Damn Channel (www.MyDamnChannel.com), the entertainment studio and new media platform today announced a major branded entertainment deal with Southern Comfort. The two companies are partnering to create twelve weeks of “My Damn Channel Music Nights” in music bars and clubs in New York and Los Angeles and on the SoCo Music Experience festival tour this summer. Tour dates feature Gnarls Barkley, Justice, The Roots, The Black Keys and more. Starting in July, original content will be produced for a customized, co-branded channel presented by Grace Helbig, host of My Damn Channel’s “Daily Grace.” Programming will appear on My Damn Channel and across its network of syndication partners.
Founder and CEO of My Damn Channel, Rob Barnett said, “We’ve started building a big audience and turning quality content into significant sponsorships. Southern Comfort made a major commitment to back branded entertainment and to put our channel and our fans together on the road. We love our jobs.”
Southern Comfort U.S. Brand Director Ken Rose said, "Music is a major part of the lives of our consumers. Whether it's at a club or a music festival, they're going out with their friends to see live music. Partnering with My Damn Channel allows us to speak to our consumer in a relevant and meaningful manner, as well as take the SoCo Music Experience to music fans that can't make it out to one of the six festivals."
