Our hearts are with all of the victims in Haiti.
Many lives have been lost, and many more are in desperate need of help - babies and small children have lost their parents, and many orphans are without shelter. By visiting Haiti-Relief.com, you can donate as little as $5 to help rebuild those orphanages.
In the mean time, the Save the Children foundation has been setting up Child Friendly Spaces (shelters and camps) to give the children a place to play and sleep until other remedies surface.
By texting the word "SAVE" to 20222, a $10 donation to Save the Children will be added to your phone bill.
Also by texting the word "HAITI" to 90999, a $10 donation to the Red Cross will be added to your phone bill.

Also, George Clooney (among other film stars who have yet to be named) is teaming up with MTV for a telethon event to raise money for the victims.
The event is set to air this Friday, January 22 on all MTV networks (this includes VH1, Comedy Central, and CMT) along with ABC, HBO, NBC, and CNN.

Welcome to the rebirthing. My Damn Channel is all new.
For 21 months, we slowly built a world to co-create the best, original series with the pros that we love in film and television, music and comedy.
We crunched stats last night during our all-night reincarnation and our year-to-year comps for eyeballs are awesome. We can’t thank you enough for taking 3 or 4 or 5 minutes to be here from time to time & support the likes of Harry Shearer, Don Was, David Wain, Daily Grace, Sam Seder, Sarah Silverman, “You Suck at Photoshop” and every artist that decided to create for you here.
We gave our pros a safe haven where ‘the suits’ are never welcome. We gave our artists direct access to you – without the layers of show business bullshit that normally get in the way.
We raised less than most – we spent less than most – we’re staffed tinier than most. But when triple-digit audience growth brought big sponsors, we were finally ready to re-invest in what we hope is a much better viewing experience.
Take this baby out for a test drive – share the ride – spread the news – post our link – status update us – tweet this re-launch & let us know what you think.
DAY ONE features the season 4 premiere of WAINY DAYS. We worship David Wain. Tonight’s first-ever WAINY DAYS LIVE show is now sold out.
We just learned that the first 2 weeks of PILOT SEASON racked up over 2 million views!! You can watch the first 4 episodes now starring Sam Seder, Sarah Silverman, Andy Dick, David Cross & Isla Fisher.
Thank you for getting us this far. We’re going to continue to unleash the audacity of HBO and bring you the best stuff that outdoes the rest.

We started My Damn Channel in the wake of an earlier round of big corporate layoffs as traditional media tried to wrap its arms around the intense insurgency of online video.
Many major media companies took a shot at chasing YouTube's brass ring, but they couldn't ride their horses fast enough to get into the lead ahead of all the upstart brands racing onto the field.
We ran fast in our first year. Some of our best competitors like Super Deluxe didn't make it. We loved their work. We stayed determined to keep costs low, but still bring the best talent - treat them well - and let them deliver quality, original web video which is getting seen by an audience growing faster by the second.
In the past 24 hours, we've had the #1 video on all of YouTube - thanks to Big Fat Brain, creators of "You Suck at Photoshop" and their NEW web series, "Agency of Record."
This week, TIME Magazine honored us in their Top 10 Everything of 2008 - twice! They put YSAP in the Top 10 TV Episodes of the year next to Lost, Mad Men, 30 Rock & Colbert. And they honored Sir Harry Shearer for one of his Katie Couric Open-Mic Moments that we call "Found Objects."
Maria on our team just told me we passed 42 million total views yesterday.
This week, we added Suhaila Suhimi to lead the advertising team bringing more top brands in to sponsor all of our new programming.
Here's a list of what's NEW & what's coming for the year ahead with immeasurable thanks for every second you've stopped your world to take a look at www.MyDamnChannel.com:

Flight of the Conchords HBO premiere episode next week on My Damn Channel - 3 weeks before it airs on HBO !
STELLA - new channel just launched
GraceNMichelle - new channel just launched
Agency of Record - new episode tmrw/Fri

MY DAMN CHANNEL CELEBRATES ITSELF
First Birthday Stats and ‘Terrible Two’ Plans Revealed
NEW YORK, July 31, 2008 - My Damn Channel (www.MyDamnChannel.com), the entertainment studio and new media platform, today celebrates its first birthday by revealing year one statistics on traffic and revenue, and announcing new community features and a full development slate.
My Damn Channel has built a brand that empowers professional filmmakers, actors, comedians, musicians, and athletes to co-produce, mass distribute and monetize original, short-form video.
My Damn Channel has produced over 325 original videos viewed over 29 million times in the past year. The company created a studio, a destination site, syndication network, and branded entertainment exchange to match advertisers with top talent who deliver high-quality, episodic content.
Today, the channel celebrates itself and the first 9 channels co-created with Harry Shearer, David Wain, Big Fat Brain, Don Was, A.D. Miles, Andy Milonakis, Grace Helbig, Steve Kerper, and Coolio.
Watch our Birthday Meltdown
Watch 07-08-Oh-No
Twenty-two original series have featured over 120 professional artists including Ozzy Osbourne, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Rob Corddry, Janeane Garofalo, Kristen Schaal, and Elizabeth Banks.
My Damn Channel currently reaches over one million unique viewers monthly. Major brands including Lincoln, Universal Pictures, Lionsgate, Southern Comfort, Puma, and HBO have signed on. Revenue is pacing to exceed $1 million by year’s end.
A low-cost model eliminates multi-layered management tiers found in traditional media and puts artists in direct contact with their fans. My Damn Channel founder and CEO Rob Barnett said, “Our team and our talent are inspired by cynics who say you can’t build a brand and create the traffic and revenue needed to succeed with original video. Our birthday blood sugar rush is strong enough to keep us laughing and beating projections in year two.”
A new syndication deal has just been signed with a major portal and will be announced and launched in August. New community features on the destination site include video alerts via email for premieres and featured clips; customizable profiles; friending; and favorites.
The development slate of new My Damn Channel programming includes:
• “Pilot Channel” (working title) – content creators get full access to the company’s branding, technology, community, syndication, promotion, and revenue. Advertisers bid to sponsor new series through a branded entertainment exchange that guarantees placement and distribution throughout our network.
• “Lapdance with Kurt Loder: Saving The World One Interview at a Time” – Author, journalist, MTV anchor, movie writer and former Rolling Stone senior editor Kurt Loder interviews filmmakers, musicians and anyone else who’s around, anywhere in the world, via iChat. The first episode with Harry Shearer premieres in August.
• New Big Fat Brain series – the creators of “You Suck at Photoshop” will “tweak the geeks” once again.
• “Face Time presented by Puma” – athletes and musicians interview each other to find out where they get their inspiration. Three 6 Mafia and Terrell Owens star in the channel’s first sports series.
• “My Damn Channel Music Nights presented by SoCo” – Grace Helbig, host of the channel’s “Daily Grace” hits the highway this summer with Southern Comfort for 12 weeks of programming starring fans and artists including Common, The Black Keys, and The Roots, filming in NY, CA, AZ, and WI.
• Harry Shearer – the Sultan of political satire has just released a new album, “Songs of the Bushmen.” New videos from the album include “Turd Blossom Special” (Shearer as Karl Rove) and “Gym Buds” (Judith Owen as Condeleeza Rice). Shearer continues to produce “Found Objects,” featuring news anchors and newsmakers in unscripted moments captured on film.
• Don Was – the creator and host of My Damn Channel’s Wasmopolitan Cavalcade of Recorded Music is producing a second season of all new music. Don and his Cavalcade just filmed over 55 musicians live in Detroit at the “Concert of Colors” diversity festival.

Dailymotion Features Exclusive Debut of My Damn Channel's Bedtime Stories
Dailymotion, the world's largest independent video sharing site, and My Damn Channel, the entertainment studio and new media platform, today announced a partnership that will bring My Damn Channel's original, professionally-produced episodic video content to Dailymotion's audience of over 49 million users worldwide.
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 11, 2008 - Dailymotion, the world's largest independent video sharing site, and My Damn Channel, the entertainment studio and new media platform, today announced a partnership that will bring My Damn Channel's original, professionally-produced episodic video content to Dailymotion's audience of over 49 million users worldwide.
Beginning Tuesday, March 11, 2008, Dailymotion will host an exclusive premiere episode of My Damn Channel's newest web series, "Bedtime Stories." Written and co-directed by Steve Kerper, whose previous work includes infamous sketches such as "Raging Bullwinkle" for HBO's "Hardcore TV," each episode of "Bedtime Stories" will offer a provocative retelling of a traditional children's story. The show stars web video cult personality and one-time pole vault medalist Grace Helbig and features illustrations by Asterisk (Saturday Night Live's "TV Funhouse").
In addition to the exclusive "Bedtime Stories" premiere, Dailymotion will now feature My Damn Channel's original comedy and music videos including "Horrible People," a soap opera with an evil, comedic twist written and directed by A. D. Miles ("Wet Hot American Summer"); "Cookin' with Coolio," a production of Dead Crow Pictures featuring hip-hop star Coolio creating his favorite "funkalicious" dishes and "Wainy Days," an hilarious, fictionalized account of comedian David Wain's ("The State," "The Ten") search for romance. My Damn Channel artists also include Harry Shearer, Andy Milonakis, Big Fat Brain ("You Suck at Photoshop") and Don Was.
Content from My Damn Channel will be programmed by Dailymotion's creative managers into the site's channels alongside licensed videos from Dailymotion's Official users as well as original videos from the Motionmaker program. This curatorial strategy enables Dailymotion to deliver the highest-quality viewing experience by providing content in a manner that is user-friendly and easy-to-navigate.
"We're excited to partner with My Damn Channel, a company that shares our dedication to bringing the freshest and most creative entertainment to the largest audience possible," said Danny Passman, Dailymotion's senior creative director. "We are also elated that they have chosen our site for the premiere of 'Bedtime Stories,' and are confident that our high-quality viewing experience and global audience makes Dailymotion the perfect platform for this debut."
"Dailymotion adds massive global reach and effective promotion for our talent and our original videos," said Rob Barnett, Founder & CEO of My Damn Channel. "We found solid partners at Dailymotion to help fuel our mission to rewrite old media rules by allowing major artists to reach tens of millions of fans without any corporate interference."

Oscars,
Taxi to the Dark Side on 2/25/2008 7:45:00 AM by Rob Barnett

Alex Gibney is an Oscar winner! The man is a friend, an inspiration, and a soulful warrior. His films are completely dedicated to telling the truth.
TAXI TO THE DARK SIDE won the Academy Award for Documentary Feature.
Here's the LA Times:
'Taxi to the Dark Side': A look at torture
"Taxi to the Dark Side" provides the night's most overtly political commentary.
By Mark Olsen
February 25, 2008Winner for outstanding documentary feature, "Taxi to the Dark Side," a painfully clear-eyed look at the United States policy on torture in Afghanistan and Iraq and at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, provided the night's most overtly political commentary -- Jon Stewart's monologue notwithstanding.Directed by Alex Gibney and produced by Gibney and Eva Orner, the film features photographs and video footage from Abu Ghraib prison, as well as interviews with military personnel. In accepting the award, Gibney said, "Here's to all doc filmmakers," and then went on to dedicate the award to Dilawar, the Afghan cab driver whose death provides the film with its throughline and title, and to his own late father, a former Navy interrogator, noting "his fury about what was being done to the rule of law."
"Taxi to the Dark Side" was one of three nominees that touched on the war in Iraq, but Gibney's feature was the one that beat out the sizable cult of celebrity around filmmaker Michael Moore, a nominee for his look at the American healthcare system, "Sicko."Gibney was also an executive producer of the nominated feature-length documentary "No End in Sight."
"Taxi to the Dark Side" was originally scheduled to be broadcast on television by the Discovery Channel, but was recently picked up by HBO when Discovery made it clear they would not show the film this year. Gibney very much wanted the film on television prior to the November elections.
Gibney concluded his acceptance speech by saying, "Let's hope we can turn this country around, move away from the dark side and back to the light."
