In their search for intelligent, poetic hit records, some incredible singers have tracked down and covered his songs including Johnny Cash, Ricky Skaggs, Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Jimmy Buffet, Brad Paisley, The Highwaymen, Bobby Bare, Lyle Lovett and Charley Pride. His 1971 song, L.A. Freeway, was a big cut for Jerry Jeff Walker and helped define the so-called Outlaw Movement. 37 years later, his song Hollywood - recorded here for the first time - feels like the long-awaited thematic sequel.
