MAN vs. MOVIES - COMEDIAN MARK MALKOFF'S NETFLIX CHALLENGE PREMIERES TODAY



Malkoff Watches Over 400 Hours of Netflix Movies In A Month

NEW YORK, June 5, 2012 - Comedian Mark Malkoff decided to take advantage of Netflix unlimited streaming more than any customer in history. From April 16 to May 15 Mark watched 252 films on Netflix streaming totaling 404.25 hours-- or 3.3 cents per film.

Mark's video, "Netflix Challenge" premieres today on MyDamnChannel.com/MarkMalkoff.

Based on a cost of $7.99 for Netflix streaming, the 252 films ended up costing Mark just 3.2 cents per film. Mark watched the vast majority of the films in his Queens apartment (and he also went mobile on his iPhone and iPad.) Over the month, Mark averaged watching films 13.47 hours a day.

Highlights included:

- Mark received over 500 Netflix film suggestions from people on Twitter and Facebook.

- The first week Mark didn't leave his apartment for 155 hours straight

- Actor Andrew McCarthy did live in-person commentary for Mark on "St. Elmo's Fire"

- Mark sat through an estimated 29.4 hours of closing credits

- Mark gained six pounds over the month

- For Mark's final day, he watched 17 straight hours of Netflix films

"Good thing there's unlimited Netflix streaming," Mark says. "Otherwise I would have had to subscribe to the 252 discs-at-a-time plan."
