MY DAMN CHANNEL TALENT NETWORK WILL SIGN, DEVELOP, PRODUCE NEW VIDEO STARS

Web Celeb, Molly, Leads Entertainment Studio’s New Division as Director of Talent & Audience Development

New York, NY – August 1, 2011 – My Damn Channel, a leading entertainment studio and distributor of original videos, hired Molly Templeton to the new position, Director of Talent & Audience Development. Effective today, Molly will lead the My Damn Channel Talent Network division. She will sign, develop and produce new video creators whose work will appear on www.MyDamnChannel.com and throughout the My Damn Channel distribution network of partner sites. Molly will also manage daily content operations between My Damn Channel and its premium programming partners to expand the social media presence of new and established talent in the network.

Molly started producing video blogs for YouTube in 2006 and earned over 50 million views under the username, 'mememolly'. She has also produced videos independently and created branded content for companies such as Xbox, Hasbro and Fox. In 2009, Molly was invited to become a host, writer and producer of the daily web show Rocketboom in New York City where she covered contemporary internet culture and news and entertainment. Molly reports directly to My Damn Channel Founder/CEO, Rob Barnett. Since launching in July 2007, My Damn Channel has given major talent from film, television, music and comedy funding, production and distribution for original content. The company has also successfully developed new talent like Daily Grace and hit series from new and emerging stars with shows like “You Suck at Photoshop” and many others.

My Damn Channel begins its fifth year with a series of announcements and launches extending the reach of its premium content. The My Damn Channel Distribution Network now reaches over 50 million unique visitors monthly. The recently launched, My Damn Channel Blog Network will add dozens of new entertainment sites to the company’s footprint. And with the launch of the My Damn Channel Talent Network, more creators get a chance to breakout from the sea of online video. The network gives audiences a chance to discover new talent and offers advertisers a heavy roster of options including A-list artists and emerging stars.

Rob Barnett said, “We just worked with Subway, USC and IFC to launch a new filmmaker series and we were inspired to create a management position to develop and birth more fresh talent. Molly is one of the smartest, most passionate leaders we could ask to run the My Damn Channel Talent Network. We now have another amazing, in-house star as well!” Molly said, “My Damn Channel has a fantastic reputation for producing outstanding content. I’m so excited to be working with this team to bring more talent to the network.”

Molly studied fine art at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver. She’s interested in audience communication and development in social networks and web video. Molly loves to bake, play strategy games and is currently teaching herself the ukulele.
