New VP Advertising Strategy & Partnerships

MY DAMN CHANNEL APPOINTS SUHAILA SUHIMI
V.P., ADVERTISING STRATEGY & PARTNERSHIPS

New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA – December 15, 2008 – Suhaila Suhimi joins My Damn Channel as Vice President, Advertising Strategy & Partnerships, reporting to Founder/CEO, Rob Barnett.  In this new role, Suhaila will develop and manage custom, branded entertainment campaigns and strategic advertising partnerships.  She will take the lead role on all company/advertiser relationships – co-creating digital campaigns that marry major brands to My Damn Channel content produced by Hollywood pros.

Suhaila brings extensive advertising experience and relationships to this new position.  She was previously Director of Brand Strategy at NBC Universal Digital Studio where she was responsible for developing original content experiences across all NBCU digital properties.

My Damn Channel is a studio, an online destination, and a syndication network that creates and distributes original, branded video.  Top talent from television and film, music and comedy have launched individual branded channels and created hit web series including David Wain’s Wainy Days (2008 Webby Award winner for Best Comedy Series), and Big Fat Brain’s You Suck at Photoshop, a web phenomenon that won 3 Webbys in 2008, including the People’s Choice Winner for Best Comedy.  My Damn Channel also features music and sports-related programming.

In recent months, the company co-created major branded campaigns with Deep-Focus for HBO, Universal McCann for Southern Comfort and ZenithOptimedia for PUMA.  My Damn Channel has just launched strategic relationships with MTV Entertainment’s atom.com and Michael Eisner’s Vuguru.

Earlier this week TIME Magazine put My Damn Channel on their list for the Top 10 TV Episodes of 2008.  You Suck at Photoshop was honored along with TV shows including Lost, 30 Rock, and Mad Men by TIME who said, “the small-scale serial packed in as much comedy and pathos as a TV series twenty times its length.”

Founder/CEO Rob Barnett says, “Suhaila Suhimi adds essential experience to our elite team of digital rebels.  Our Chief Operating Officer, Warren Chao has done an amazing job executing on a business model that brings us to break-even at break-neck speed.  Suhaila’s creativity, contacts and client-focus will help us build a major digital media success in the year ahead.”

Suhaila says, “Joining My Damn Channel is a natural fit.  I have known Rob since the launch of the company and have been very impressed by the quality and originality of
My Damn Channel’s programs.  I look forward to bringing my digital marketing expertise to the team.  We will work with the ad community to co-create compelling, cost effective campaigns and drive awareness, engagement and traffic for brands that want to be associated with the best in online comedy, music & sports.”

Prior to NBCU, Suhaila served as East Coast Director, Digital at OMD Worldwide in New York City.  She led the digital group and provided strategic leadership on brands including Frito-Lay, ABSOLUT, FedEx and Hertz.

Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Suhaila received her Masters of Mass Communications (Advertising and Marketing Communications) degree from Boston University and her Bachelor’s in Communications degree from University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
