    Christian Bale Visited Aurora

As reported by many different outlets yesterday, Christian Bale, star of The Dark Knight Rises, visited survivors of the movie theater shooting that happened in Aurora, Colorado last week. He didn't go dressed as Batman, he didn't go because the studio told him it would be good for PR. He went because he cared.

And you know what? That was a f**king awesome thing for him to do.

We know we poked fun at him a bit this week with our Save The Supers Night Knight one-shot, but we're genuine fans of Christian Bale and just because he once had a bad day caught on tape and bandied around the internets, we have never believed he was a bad person.

We kid because we love the internet, we love The Dark Knight trilogy and we've loved Christian Bale ever since Empire of The Sun (and some in this office may say Newsies but we're going to go with Empire of The Sun).

His tantrum a couple of years ago captured our attention because it made our fantasy movie star superhero suddenly and undeniably human. And by visiting the Aurora shooting survivors, he reminds us again of how very real and human he is by displaying one of the most heroic of human characteristics: compassion.

So, thanks, Christian Bale, for showing us we don't need to be superheroes to do good in the world. If you'd like to help the Aurora community, you can by clicking here.
