We're all about comedy at My Damn Channel, and comedy is all about community.  And if your interested in the comedy community you should definitely check out this multi-part documentary called Modern Comedian, where a bunch of really funny, culturally relevant comedians get profiled.  From Chris Gethard to Steve Agee, these comedians discuss booking shows, developing comedic voice, acting, writing, and all the things in between.  I watched the first episode and was hooked; it was only after the second time I soiled myself that I pressed pause and went to the bathroom.  Cleaned up, I continued to watch again.  I soiled myself three hours later and didn't notice until my roommate dumped a container of Ajax on me.  I am now blind (temporarily).  

Anyways, my point is, check it out.  I oftentimes take comedians for granted, in that I occasionally forget how much of themselves they have to put on the line to get us to laugh.  It's a hard life, there's no doubt about that.  But this documentary also shows the viewer that there are rewards out there for aspiring comedians.  And even if that reward is simply getting profiled in an excellent documentary such as Modern Comedian, that's not too bad, in the end.  

But money is nice.

1. I know I keep writing about my friend Ramsey but this week he wrote about Albert Brooks' old short films and then ALBERT BROOKS mentioned it on twitter!

2. I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about the Evil Dead remake, but at least Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are producing it.

3. Girls returns to HBO in a week and I'm curious if Henry Zebrowski from Murderfist is going to make a return.

4. Jack White is amazing and last night his episode of Austin City Limits premiered on PBS. Here's a preview!

5. High Maintenance, the amazing web-series that you absolutely need to watch, released a preview for it's new cycle of episodes.

Welcome once again to TVgasm Tuesday. Did you enjoy the long weekend? Well, I hope you're rested because there is a lot of TV news and you need to know all of it so you can finally have something to say to those pesky "friends" of yours. For example you could tell your friends how Alec Baldwin had a few choice no-no words for some paparazzi. We can all laugh about this, "oh ha ha Alec Baldwin in crazy hardy har har" but the bottom line is please don't beat me up, Alec Baldwin.

Also, did you know Fergie is pregnant? My predictions are as follows: the baby will be more photogenic than any of us, the baby's name will have at least four and, at most, six consecutive consonants in it, and there will be a surge of "My Humps" jokes on twitter [ed. note: It's already happening]. Speaking of babies, Blue Ivy was featured in the Beyoncé documentary, and you should go read about it and then cry at Beyoncé's adorable offspring. Let's see what TVgasm has for us...

Apparently, Khloe Kardashian's lack of expertise and talent has caught up to her, click here to see how. If it weren't for the alliteration in her name and her crazy eyes, I'm pretty sure America would have NO time for Khloe.

And, here's to you, Amanda Bynes! You're just a fun-loving twenty-something trying to figure it all out! You're like a slightly intoxicated Zooey Deschanel without bangs or charm or any likable quality that Zooey Deschanel has! Keep being newsworthy, girl!

Welcome to another TVgasm Tuesday! Before we get into this can we talk for ONE SECOND about how Kate Middleton is PREGNANT?! This means so many things for the world: 1) Blue Ivy will now have competition as the most famous baby in the universe. 2) Piles and piles of pictures of this baby will be everywhere. Like, on billboards, probably. 3) I have a new nemesis.

Also, not to be outdone by some precocious fetus, Taylor Swift has been seen cavorting with Harry Styles of One Direction. They're now going by the couple name "Haylor" which is just the worst. Who decides these things, and how do I get in contact with them to punch them in the face….or, at least to write a strongly worded letter? Is there a committee of some kind? Get back to me, internet. In the meantime, let's see what TVgasm has for us:

It's TVgasm Tuesday once again, and my pledge to you is to make it through this without making a single presidential election joke. It's been a great week for music: Kid Rock released a new song, Rihanna is releasing a ridiculously expensive new album, and Briney Spears is in talks to write her very own autobiography? Oh did I saw great? I meant horribly, horribly, awful. Is Kid Rock even still a thing? I thought he magically disappeared in 2005 along with the terrible dial-up internet tone. Maybe TVgasm can help redeem this week for the world

I'm pretty sure it'll have to be someone tiny because I have this theory that Sharon Osbourne is secretly a teeny tiny pixie that's made to look human sized with camera tricks. The Jersey Shore crew will be holding a hurricane Sandy fundraiser, and TVgasm has the full story. I guess the whole thing's going to be improvisation because I don't think the Jersey Shore cast can actually read off a teleprompter.

Life is hard on the Boardwalk, and TVgasm knows that. There are so many difficult questions like: Why don't people respond well when I set things on fire? Why Do I live on a boardwalk?
